Although brick-and-mortar dominated grocery shopping in Italy, a 2023 survey showed the increasing relevance of e-commerce channels. According to survey results, 16 percent of respondents were familiar with online grocery shopping. However, just three percent of Italian consumers purchased groceries and household items mostly online. Buyers exclusively opting for e-commerce platforms accounted for one percent of the total.
